Support Our Troops Patch -- NEW


What:
The "Support Our Troops" Council patch created by Colleen Mulonet, Troop 124, Girl Scouts Wagon Wheel Council. This patch program is for all age levels.

Purpose: To help celebrate and show our support for our troops. Once
completed, patches can be purchased at the Council Shop. Patches are $1.50 each plus tax.To learn more, click here.

Acorns and Oaks Patch

What: The "Acorns and Oaks" patch program is for Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts.

Purpose: Designed to encourage Girl Scout and older adults to interact and get to know each other better. To earn the patch, participants must complete four activities (see downloadable PDF -- link below). First-year participants will receive a patch. Second-year or more participants will receive an acorn patch (pictured) each year to place around the Oaks patch (at left). Troop leaders may purchase patches at the Council shop. Can-Cer-Vive Patch


What: The "Can-Cer-Vive" patch program is for Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts.

Purpose: It is designed to increase awareness of cancer and to encourage Girl Scouts to adopt healthful habits and attitudes by taking an active role in maintaining their own health. To download PDF with more details, click here.

Do-Dad Patch

What: Be a part of that special girl's life. Earn your Do-Dad designation by helping out her troop, Service Unit, or working at Camp Pisgah. Flaunt your status with a Do-Dad Hat and your daughter gets at patch. Each year after the first year, you get a star...because after all, you're a star in your daughter's eyes!

Year-Round Troop Patch


What:
Does your troop get together for a special event at least once every year? Then you are a Year-Round troop!

Purpose: Earn this patch to let everyone know that you are Girl Scouts -- winter, spring, summer, AND fall! In order to qualify your troop must attend or host a special event (apart from troop meetings) in each of the four seasons. Smoky Mountain Adventure Junior Patch

What: Learn about the Park and its history. To earn this patch, girls must complete 6 activities. Divide into groups and take turns being National Park Rangers, talk about the Park and how we can help to preserve it.

Purpose: Find out when the Smoky Mountain National Park was opened, how large it is, how many tourists visit yearly, activities within the park, etc.

Spirit of Appalachia Junior Patch

What:
Find out how many states have part of the Appalachian Mountains within their boundaries. Mountain ranges have names for each different section.
What part(s) of the Appalachian Mountain range is in North Carolina?
(Make a list)
Find out what the following terms mean as they relate to mountains: Peek, valley, plateau, altitude, range. Draw a picture using all the terms listed to
label the various parts of the mountains. Display your pictures at a
