Henderson County Girl Scouts To Raise Funds for Charities at “Lock-In for Love” Event
Hendersonville, NC – December 19, 2005 – Senior Girl Scout Troop #184 of Mills River will be sponsoring a “Lock-In for Love” from 7pm , Friday, January 27 – 10am, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville . The event for older Girl Scouts will benefit 4 charities: Hurricane Katrina Relief; Mainstay, Interfaith Assistance Ministry; and a local nursing home.
Girl will be doing a variety of activities throughout the evening, including songs, games, dancing, baking, bingo (with lots of prizes), and will be making items to donate to charities. Girl Scouts will also be able to earn the “Conflict Resolution” badge with the help of a Amy Beasley, a mediation counselor from Peace Makers. The event will end with “Movie Madness At Midnight”.
The $15 attendance fee ensures a cool patch, pizza, snacks and a thank you goodie. Girl Scouts from other counties are welcome to attend, but space is limited so register early. Contact Jennifer Lund at 891-7409 or 243-4066 for further details and to sign-up.
