SAFETY-WISE WISDOM

Safety-Wise is a publication addressed to all adults in Girl Scouting with particular emphasis on those who work directly with girls. It is full of information to enhance your development as a leader, quick tips for working with girls, and lots of advice on creating a safe environment in which to have fun.

Safety-Wise has two objectives: The first objective is to establish a sound program experience that will protect and maintain the well-being of every Girl Scout by providing Program Standards and safety guidelines for common Girl Scout activities. The second objective is to provide basic leadership resources for leaders. The leader should use Safety-Wise in conjunction with the leaders' guide for the age level of her group.

In Girl Scouting, safety for the girls and adults is always a top priority. If you work directly with girls please take a few moments to read over the questions and answers below. These are typical of some situations you may face as a leader. (Click on any part of any question to see a window with the correct answer.)
