Let your voice be heard!
A new Girl Scout camp opportunity is around the corner!

There are 600 acres in Iredell County that will soon become the newest addition to the Girl Scout properties in western North Carolina. Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest council is in the process of selling its existing camps to purchase 600 acres of undeveloped land, but in 2009 it will become the property of the new, merged western North Carolina council, belonging to and serving all the girls in the region. We want to know what you think. How should this property be developed to serve Girl Scouts today and long into the future? Let your voice be heard!

The other camps you already know and love will continue to operate as they always have. Your input on this survey will also help us to determine what enhancements we can consider for our existing Girl Scout camp facilities in western North Carolina. If you are a girl member, a parent, a troop leader, trainer, or service unit manager, we are very
interested in your input, so please take a moment to fill out the survey. We want to hear your thoughts on the development of this property. This survey will be circulated within each western North Carolina council and the responses will be taken into consideration for designing the facilities and programs at the new site, taking into account what the other, existing camps already offer.

Girl Scouting is all about leadership. By participating in this survey, you will help shape the future of the Girl Scout outdoor experience in western North Carolina. Every council has something valuable to add, and we encourage you to involve as many people as possible in the process. While the new, merged council will indeed be large, it will still depend on its people and their individual voices to lead the way to the future. Your voice counts – it always has and it always
will.
